The sealing and lubrication of
rolling bearings are important aspects to ensure their normal operation, extend their service life and prevent contamination.
Sealing design:
Type: The seals of rolling bearings are mainly divided into two categories: contact seals and non-contact seals. Contact seals are usually sealing rings made of rubber or synthetic rubber that directly contact the surface of the inner or outer ring to form an effective seal. Non-contact sealing achieves the sealing effect through the air or liquid barrier formed by the gap.
Structure: Sealing structure includes single lip seal, double lip seal, V-shaped seal, etc. The selection depends on factors such as working environment, speed and lubrication method. A reasonable sealing structure can effectively prevent external contaminants from entering the inside of the bearing and protect the rolling surface of the bearing.
Sealing performance:
High temperature resistance: In some applications, the operation of bearings in high temperature environments needs to be considered, so the sealing material must have good high temperature resistance.
Resistance to chemical corrosion: In some industrial environments, bearings may be exposed to chemicals, and sealing materials need to have certain resistance to chemical corrosion to ensure their long-term stability.
Lubrication method:
Oil lubrication: Oil lubrication is one of the commonly used lubrication methods for rolling bearings. Oil lubrication can take the form of oil immersion, oil mist, oil gas, etc. to ensure that the friction between the internal components of the bearing is effectively reduced. Oil lubrication is suitable for high-speed bearings and high-temperature environments.
Grease lubrication: Grease lubrication reduces friction by filling the inside of the bearing with grease to form a lubricating film. Compared with oil lubrication, grease lubrication is more suitable for low-speed and high-load conditions. It also provides a sealing effect to prevent contaminants from entering the bearing.
Lubricant selection:
Base oil: The base oil types of lubricating oil include mineral oil, synthetic oil, etc. The selection of appropriate base oil is directly related to the operating temperature range and durability of the bearing.
Additives: Additives in lubricating oil include antioxidants, anti-wear agents, preservatives, etc. These additives can improve the performance of lubricating oil and extend the service life of bearings.
Lubricating film:
Thickness and distribution: The formation of lubricating film is a thin film formed inside the bearing by lubricant. Its thickness and distribution are directly related to the friction and wear of the bearing. Precise control of lubricating film formation is critical to bearing performance.
